Oman
Snorkel with sea turtles, swim to a waterfall inside a cave, sleep in the dunes and watch the sun set over the Grand Canyon of Arabia. One loop, eight days, all sorted for you.
One country. Every landscape you can imagine.
This trip is about feeling Oman in all its range. In eight days you'll snorkel over coral gardens with sea turtles, swim through the emerald pools of Wadi Shab to a waterfall hidden in a cave, walk a turtle beach at night with the rangers and fall asleep to total silence in the dunes of the Wahiba Sands.
Then up into the mountains: the rose terraces of the Green Mountain at 2,000 meters, and a sunset over Wadi Ghul, the Grand Canyon of Arabia, with a night on its rim. Between them, the old Oman: the Friday goat market in Nizwa, mud-brick villages, Jabreen Castle and Bahla Fort. No two days look alike. Your senses won't know what hit them.
Stays, 4x4s, guides, breakfasts and dinners are all sorted. You just show up.

Good to know
Do I need a visa?
Many passports can enter Oman visa-free for up to 14 days, but it depends on your nationality. Check the rules for your passport before you book flights.
What's the weather like in January?
The best month to visit: around 25°C on the coast and pleasant inland. Nights in the desert drop to around 12 to 15°C, and on Jebel Shams close to freezing, so bring a warm jacket.
Do I need to swim?
A little. Wadi Shab is a walk over rocks and a swim through the canyon pools to the cave, and the Daymaniyat Islands day is a snorkelling day. Bring water shoes.
Where will I sleep?
Twin rooms (and two-person tents at the desert camp) shared with someone from the group: Muscat, the turtle coast, a private desert camp, Nizwa and Jebel Shams. Single rooms on request.
Which airport do I fly into?
Muscat. We pick you up at the airport on 10 January and drop you back on 17 January.
Do I need travel insurance?
We strongly recommend it: one that covers cancellation, medical emergencies and activities like snorkelling.
